I kinda have a thing for pandas. It’s because of my first name: Amanda. Amanda Panda. My parents still call me that sometimes. I can’t help it. And honestly. Pandas are adorable. Aren’t they?
Well, when we found out the VBS from Group this year was Pandamania? We were pretty excited. We have a pretty decent collection of pandas around here. So, in honor of Pandamania, our week at VBS (and Performing Arts Camp), here are some Panda and Asian inspired crafts and activities for you and your kiddos!
When Lydia is a little older, I’m going to do a big post about Chinese Jump Rope. I used to substitute teach for the coolest PE teachers ever and they did a huge unit on Chinese Jump Rope. It was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done!
2. Panda Rice Balls

Aren’t these cute? We made these last year and the kids LOVED them!
3. Chinese Lanterns

Oooh, these are so pretty! You could use these for a birthday party (Tangled, anyone?). Also perfect for “light of the world” scriptures. You could even write the verse on each strip of paper!
4. More Lanterns

These look a little more traditional Chinese. And they are so easy—made out of a paper cup!
5. Rocks Panda! {Or Pandas Rock?}

I love any kind of rock-nature-outdoor craft. These are so fun. I’m pretty sure mine wouldn’t turn out that adorable. But still, a white rock with some black rocks glued to it would be fun!
6. Bottle & Can Pandas

How fun is this? Squashed cans and bottles painted to look like pandas! This is from Danielle’s Place which is an amazing site full of crafts and TONS of Bible crafts & lessons.
7. Oreo Pandas

Seriously? YUM.
8. Chinese Friends

I love these little printable kids! I think these would be awesome bookmarks to remind you to pray for kids in China!
9. Paper Fortune Cookies

I’ve actually made these with Lydia before. We put a Bible verse inside them. I also think it would be fun to let your kids write a bunch of affirmations or compliments to their siblings on strips of paper. Then put them in the cookies and deliver them. What a fun treat to open it up and read nice words from a sibling!
10. Panda Bread

OK. I’m pretty sure I won’t be attempting this anytime soon, but I had to share it! WOW.
Anyone else doing Pandamania this summer? Got another fun panda craft to share?

I wanna see, I wanna see! But the some graphics are set to only 1 px wide, and I can’t see quite a few.
Looking forward to it! (Feel free to delete this post — just wanted you to know.). Great ideas, always!
