I’m Amanda. You might know me as ohAmanda.
But really, I’m just a mom. A stay-at-home mom who traded full-time vocational ministry for full-time motherhood ministry. I never knew I wanted to be a mom. I thought I’d be a children’s pastor my whole life and introduce kids to Jesus in a local church environment.
But when my daughter, Lydia was born 5 years ago, I couldn’t imagine being away from her for a whole day–much less 5 or 6 days a week. So, here I am.
I have a little boy now, too. His name is Asa and he’s 3. They both keep me busy and with every new season I’m begging God (in a nice way, of course) to help me influence them for His Kingdom and His purpose as often as I can. This blog is the journal of that adventure.
And a little bit more to introduce myself…
The biggest influences in MY childhood were: my parents, my church, my youth group, camp counselors, small group leaders, Robin Jones Gunn, Fire by Nite, Susie Shellenberger and Brio Magazine, Psalty, Adventures in Odyssey and Chronicles of Narnia.
My former jobs: roadside clown, Bridal Shop employee, Professor’s assistant, Children’s “Evangelist”, Children’s Pastor and freelance writer.
My favorite scripture: Psalm 139:17-18 “How precious to me are your thoughts,God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand”
My dream jobs: wedding planner, the person who tries out the challenges on Survivor, puppeteer on Sesame Street, program development for Disney Junior.
My bloggyness: contributing blogger at Motherhood Your Way and Tommy Nelson, inaugural World Vision blogger, official Operation Christmas blogger, Veggie Tales mom blogger and a member of the Disney World Moms Panel!
